1st Blog
OK, so this is my first blog entry at this site. I will try to write here at least a couple of times per week, and hopefully even more often. Feel free to leave comments. OK, here it goes!
PBA Experience
Back in January, USBC and The PBA joined forces to release The PBA Experience. This program allows bowlers to bowl on the same oil conditions that the PBA bowlers compete on. The program has been very successful so far as sweepers and leagues have surfaced throughout Michigan and the rest of the country as well.
In 2007/2008 I will running 3 PBA Experience Rolloff Invitationals. Any PBA Experience League or Sweeper can participate by simply adding $2 to their entry fees, and putting that $2/bowler per week toward the Rolloff. December 2 will be the date of the first rolloff and top bowlers from each participating league and sweeper will be invited to the rolloff based on a special point system. My goal is to get 10 leagues/sweepers on board for the first 10-week session. Half of the money would go toward administrative expenses which includes a new website for this program, and the other half will go toward the prize fund of each respective rolloff. With 10 leagues/sweepers and an average of 30 bowlers per event, we could raise $3000 for the prize fund by Dec. 2 (date of the 1st rolloff). Prize money will be paid out 100%.
New MichiganBowling.com Membership
In 2007/2008, MichiganBowling.com will be offering $12 memberships to open bowlers and league bowlers. For $12, the bowler gets 48 free games in the form of 4 buy-1-get-1-free games per month for 12 months. $3 per membership will go toward a special competitive bowling prize fund; $3 per membership will go toward a youth scholarship fund; $3 will be paid as commission to the person who sells the membership; and $3 will go toward administrative expenses. This is a winning situation for everybody involved! The competitive bowling fund will stay with the center that sells the memberships, and the same applies to the scholarship fund. This is not only a good way to raise prize fund money for tournaments and leagues, but it also builds a database of bowlers for the bowling center!
I will need a ton of help with the selling of these memberships as well as overall organization of this program. If you would like to help out and make $3 per membership sold, please email me.
Ok, that is it for this blog entry. Feel free to comment!
